The Sims Paralives competitor shows off its very flexible character creator
I watch closely Paraliveswhich could end up being a competitor to the undisputed life simulation juggernaut that is The Sims 4. development, like building housesthat we saw in June.
This week, Paralives showed off more of its character creation tools, which seem incredibly expansive and flexible. Starting with a number of body sliders to adjust the size of almost everything from head to toe (although there aren’t actually any toe sliders), we move on to a few body hair options (a few something the Sims 4 doesn’t have without mods) and tattoos, which you can scale, rotate, and slide around the character’s body until you’re happy with the placement. Pretty cool.
Choosing the height of your Parafolk is as easy as adjusting another slider, and there are plenty of options for your character’s face, including beauty spots that, like tattoos, you can size and move up to. that you have found the perfect placement. There’s also a handful of preset skin tones (the video says the studio will add more) and tools to create your own from a palette and color wheel.
You can even give your character heterochromia, which means they have two different colored irises. I guess a lot of players will go for this option because frankly it looks really cool.
I can’t wait to see more Paralives in the near future, and hopefully I won’t have to wait too long to play it. The art style is lovely, and even the few animations featured in the character creator look great too. And frankly, it’s high time The Sims 4 had some competition.
