The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack Is Now Available: Everything You Need To Know

The Sims 4 Werewolves, the new game bundle from Electronic Arts and Maxis, launched on Steam, Origin, PlayStation, and Xbox on Thursday. The pack introduces players to the world of Moonwood Mill and the ability to transform into a werewolf.

Prior to launch, the developers held a preview demo of the pack, which adds a new level to the established supernatural gameplay. Expanding on the game packs that introduced spellcasters, vampires, aliens, and ghosts, Sims 4 Werewolves lets you explore the lives of lycanthropes.

Here’s what players can discover in the pack.

Welcome to Moonwood Mill

The Sims 4 Werewolves includes a whole new world: Moonwood Mill. Werewolf Sims call this abandoned factory and forest town bordered by wilderness their home. The new world looks like a mix of Granite Falls (Outdoor Retreat), Forgotten Hollow (Vampires), and Evergreen Harbor (Eco Lifestyle).

The new world is home to two werewolf packs and a few new bundles, three of which were designed by Sims YouTuber James Turner. Moonwood Mill also features new story elements like the Moonpetal Flower in Howling Point, the elusive Luna Fish in Lunvik Lake, training pits, adventure time entrances and underground tunnels.

And what would werewolves be without the moon? The new game pack includes moon phases that will impact Werewolf Sims. Previously, in-game nights only displayed full moons, but now players can see what part of the lunar cycle they are currently in (similar to monitoring your Ecological Footprint or the season in other packs) . Your Werewolf Sim may have increased skills and mood swings during certain moon phases.

The Sims 4 Werewolves Gameplay Still

The new game pack includes new Create a Sim options, building blocks, and storytelling options.

The pack also includes new buildable and purchasable items like a mossy roof, claw wall decals, industrial-style furniture, and a smaller telescope (which unlocks a new meteor-related death for Sims). I love creating rundown builds or repairmen when playing The Sims 4, and these new items have already given me dozens of ideas.

Werewolf 101

Moonwood Mill is home to two werewolf packs your Sim can try to join: the traditional Moonwood Collective and the savage Wildfangs. Sims can join a pack by completing Trials, which are available by interacting with the group’s Pack Leader. Trials include showing off your howling skills, fighting, presenting a gift to the pack leader, and more. Once your Sim is in the pack, they must maintain the values of the pack to stay in good standing. The game leaves plenty of room for your own storytelling: blend in with the pack, overthrow the Alpha, or live as a lone wolf? You won’t be able to create your own pack, but you can start a werewolf club with the Get Together pack.

Like the occult Sims in the Vampires and Realm of Magic game pack, the Werewolves pack requires your Sim to level up. Being a Werewolf includes a skill tree that your Sim can work through with Ability Points, unlocking qualities such as marking their territory, the ability to travel faster by digging tunnels, or napping anywhere. where.

Will you join the Moonwood Collective or the Wildfangs, or go it alone?

The pack also includes a new aspiration, Werewolf Initiate, which means your Sim’s goal is to become a Werewolf.

Like the magic charge globe for spellcasters, werewolves have a unique array of needs. In addition to a Wolf Appetite, you’ll need to watch out for your Sim’s Orb of Fury. If your fury orb fills up, it can trigger an uncontrolled transformation and rampage. Controlled transformations are a skill that must be mastered.

And, yes… you can woo as a werewolf.

The pack includes a new werewolf-specific romance option called Fated Mates. According to the developers, teens and older werewolves can find a Fated Mate inside another werewolf. Once two Sims are Destiny Mates, the pair get increased romance loot gains, special feelings, and their relationship cannot sour. Also, if they are romantically interacting with a Sim who is not their destined mate, they might get in a tense mood.

Design Your Sim’s Werewolf Form

Multiple images showing Werewolf Sims customizations

Your Sims’ werewolf form is highly customizable.

Like vampires, you can link or unlink your Sim’s werewolf form to their human form. You can customize nearly every aspect of your Sim’s wolf form in Create-A-Sim. Choose the sound of your wolf howl and the wolf skin has tons of customization options. Body scars are also available for the first time.

You can choose the coat color and pattern manually or cycle through the preset skin swatches. This aspect works much like the Cats and Dogs expansion pack. Keep your traditional wolf shape or get creative with paint mode, hand draws, stamps, and stencils.

The pack includes eclectic new grunge outfits that your Sim – werewolf or human – can also wear. However, if you keep your Sim in werewolf form, other Sims might have a frightening reaction towards you. There’s also a cute new wolf onesie for toddlers.
