The Sims 4 Releases Another Patch To Fix Groundhog Day Bug
The Sims 4 released another patch to fix more bugs that players encountered, including “Groundhog Day”.
Following the July base game update that coincided with High school yearsSimmers reported a variety of different issues in the game. We’ve already had two patches since: the first arrived in early August, while the second rolled out two weeks ago.
This latest update, which is available for download now, fixes the infamous “Groundhog Day” bug as well as another aging issue.

The “Groundhog Day” Bug causes the game to not save correctly – causing Simmers, when reloading, to find that their progress has been reset.
As an example, one of the first people to report the bug recalled playing Tuesday through Sunday in the game and seeing a baby grow into a toddler. After exiting the Manage Worlds and Create a Sim screens, they discovered the day had reverted to Tuesday and the toddler was a baby again.
This seems to be a growing and more prevalent problem in games that use mods.
The team said via Twitter that they believe that this new patch will fix the problem, recommending players, before installing the update, to remove all mods and custom content.

The update is 227.05 MB, with full patch notes available here.
On the “Groundhog Day” bug, the team has confirmed that it is related to High school years‘ thrift shop.
“It turns out that some mods were preventing the game from saving,” they said. “We’ve made the store more suitable for external content. We’ve seen some of you who don’t play mods report this issue. If you continue to experience the issue, please let us know at AnswersHQ.”
And regarding aging, the patch notes read: “Kids, Teens, Young Adults, and Adult Sims who blow out their cake candles should now reliably age. Happy Birthday!
“We are still investigating the issue of toddlers.”
The game recently saw the release of First Fits Kit, with Desert Luxe Kit coming tomorrow (September 14).
The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
