Someone Built Locally Inspired Jollibee and Mang Inasal Shops in The Sims 4, and the Results Are Next Level

Part of what makes The Sims games so addictive is their ability to let you build and design anything you can imagine, and with the game allowing you to add custom modifications, their virtual world can indeed become your oyster.

One group has taken it to the next level by building its own take on two of the country’s most beloved fast food restaurants: Jollibee and Mang Inasal (both owned by the Jollibee Food Group). And the results of their hard work are impressive: from the realistic statue of Jollibee that greets diners in most branches and the famous Angel Locsin poster in Mang Inasal stores, to intricate details inspired by indigenous architecture.

“Thanks to modmakers from the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries, it’s now possible to build our favorite fast food restaurants and local architecture in The Sims 4! Even pre-colonial outfits can be put together in the game if you know where to look,” Karakoa Productions wrote on Facebook, crediting modder SimlyPH with setting Jollibee and Mang Inasal.

Karakoa Productions, which is a theater troupe that aims to educate Cebuanos about pre-colonial Visayan culture, designed the indigenous-themed versions of Jollibee and Mang Inasal set in the tropics, with the thatched roof and wooden walls. . Some of their Sims are dressed in their best approximations of pre-colonial clothing, while the waiters wear recognizable fast food uniforms.
