Quick and easy mod to save family trees to save files

Before we’ve even had a chance to start filling in the blanks in our rundown of some of the best Sims 4 mods, a new mod has already caught our eye.

Although it was first released in October 2021, recent updates have made it a must-have for players who enjoy diligently managing their generational families in The Sims 4.

Summon All Urns and Log All Sim Families pretty much does what it says on the tin.

The mod consists of two parts, and they can be used together or separately, depending on what you are trying to achieve. If you want to build a Sims 4 graveyard and easily deal with urns and ghosts, Part One is for you.

For Sims 4 players who keep an external Sims log in their game – whether to create a save file or just because it’s their jam – the Log All Sim Families addition is incredibly useful.

It is of course possible to log these details with existing mods like MC Command Center, but this is more of a wham-bam option for players looking to quickly generate a log file by simply opening the dialog from cheated.

The creator of this mod said that they created the first part of the mod for “the sole purpose of creating a graveyard” in their Sims 4 game. The mod allowed them to easily remove unwanted ghosts from their urns and to place the urns they wanted in the cemetery.

The Log Sim Families mod followed because the creator is a self-proclaimed “spreadsheet enthusiast” who enjoys tracking generational Sims on a sheet.

All Sims names, ages, spouses, parents, species and other useful information are generated in a text file, separated by commas if you want to transfer them to a sheet.

You can choose to output all information from a full save file (it only took a few seconds to process over 300 Sims in our tests), or select a specific Sim by entering their first and last name.

You can also choose to save the generational details of a specific surname in your game. All very useful options for players who play in a legacy style.

For more details or to download the mod, you can head to Mod The Sims. Be sure to read the instructions carefully to ensure you get the correct download and use the correct commands for logging.
