Next The Sims 4 update could add werewolves and pronouns

A teaser video showing the upcoming Sims 4 update roadmap for May or June seems to suggest that the management game will add werewolves. Additionally, fans are speculating – with good reason – that the update will also finally add customizable pronouns.

Currently, the only way to play as a werewolf in the popular building game from Maxis and EA is with The Sims 4 mods. Both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 have received expansions that have introduced the adorable deadly lycanthropes, and now, after eight years, The Sims 4 might get them too.

The roadmap trailer (below) features the theme of exploration as the sun goes down, a strange creature hunting through the alleyways, and – less subtly – something howling at the moon. fan site Sims Community also found other clues, like the update appearing on the Danish official site asking if players were planning on “growing fangs”. While the English slogan is “seize the night”, the German version is apparently “unleash the beast”.

Additionally, the update page featured what appeared to be a character wearing a trans flag pride shirt. Although this render has been removed from English sites, it can still be viewed at international pages. Like Sims Community also points out, Maxis confirmed earlier this year that customizable pronouns were added to the Sims 4 character creator at some point this year. While it’s just speculation at this point, it could be coming alongside the Werewolf update. I guess we will find out soon.
