MTN urges customers to register their sims using multiple channels

MTN Ghana is urging its customers to register their SIM cards through the various community outlets before the deadline of July 31, 2022 to stay connected on the best network in Ghana. With over 6,700 registration points across the country, MTN requires its customers to locate registration points in their communities for their biometric data to be captured.

By the end of the SIM card registration exercise, registration agents are present in all major locations, including markets, truck parks and other strategic locations, to assist customers who need to register their SIM cards. MTN also assures customers that its branches will work on Saturdays and Sundays to attend to customers.

MTN Ghana Sales and Distribution Manager, Shaibu Haruna said, “We encourage all customers to adhere to the SIM card registration deadline of July 31, 2022. We have expanded our agent network to across the country to ensure that every customer with a valid National ID card can easily check in. Simply find a registration agent near you and contact them to register. For customers who have not yet established a link, we encourage you to do so USING *404# to make the process smoother for you.

Mr. Shaibu also confirmed that in addition to numerous physical registration points, the company has provided a web portal to enable many more customers to easily register their SIM cards. “The MTN SIM registration web portal is a channel that can be used to expedite registration, especially for customers with multiple SIM cards. We urge our customers to take advantage of this portal to expedite their registrations https:// simregistrationportal.mtn.com.gh”.

To make it as convenient and easy for customers who are not yet registered, MTN is devoting significant resources to the exercise. MTN is offering 1GB of data or 60 minutes of airtime as an incentive for customers to sign up before the July 31 deadline.

The Ministry of Communications and Digitization has announced compulsory registration of all SIM cards in Ghana. The registration exercise which began in October 2021 is due to end on July 31, 2022.
